Manila
 resident Caroline McCarty, 91, died Tuesday, September 10 at the home 
of her son, Espa McCarty of Oil Springs, after an illness of one year. 
Born in Johnson County on November 11, 1879, she was the daughter of the
 late Manuel and Nancy Colvin Clark. Her husband, Will McCarty, preceded
 her in death in 1925. Survivors, in addition to her son, Espa, include 
two daughters, Myrta Moore of Adams and Irene Hay of Flat Gap. Funeral 
services will be conducted Thursday, September 12 in the Low Gap United 
Baptist Church with Elders Arnold Reed, Lonza Reed, and Eual McKenzie 
officiating. Burial will be held in the family cemetery at Manila. The
