Glen
McCarty, 47, died Thursday in a local hospital following an illness of
several months. Born July 28, 1909, at Manila he was the son of William
and Caroline Clark McCarty. He was a resident of Barnetts Creek and a
member of the United Baptist Church. He was a miner by occupation.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Reed McCarty, five sons, Arvil, Roy,
Edward, James and Charles McCarty, all of Barnetts Creek, one daughter,
Anna McCarty of Barnetts Creek, two brothers, Espa McCarty of Ashland,
and two sisters, Mrs. Irene Hayes and Mrs. Merida Moore, both of Blaine.
Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday from the home with Lonza
Reed, John Pelphrey and Ruel Baldwin as officiating ministers. Burial
was made in the McCarty Cemetery at Manila.
