Nora Curtis McCarty, age 54, died yesterday July 19, 7:30 a.m. at her home in Manila. Born September 19, 1907 in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Johnny and Mary McCarty Curtis. She was a life long resident of Manila and a member of the United Baptist Church. Her husband Halleck McCarty survives. Additional survivors include three sons, Burl, Hager Hill; Walter Earl and Joe of Springfield, Ohio; three daughters; Maxine McCarty, Mrs. Mary Ward, and Mrs. Helen Lemaster, all of Manila. Two brothers survive, Walter, Manila and Flem Curtis, Staffordsville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 21, 11 a.m. at the LowGap United Baptist Church, Manila, with Lonza and Arnold Reed officiating. Burial will take place at the family cemetery in Manila under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
