Martin Picklesimer, 87, of Thornville, Ohio, died Thursday, Oct. 14,2004 at Rockmill Rehabilitation Hospital, Carroll, Ohio. Born Dec. 2, 1916, in Barnetts Creek, he was a son of the late Smith and Chloe Reed Picklesimer. He was a self-employed real estate broker and a member of the United Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mabel Tackett Picklesimer; two daughters, Jane Brady of Granville, Ohio, and Judia McCabe of Rockbridge, Ohio; a son, Jay Picklesimer of Pleasantville, Ohio; three sisters, Emerald Salyer of Paintsville, Victoria Williams of Plymouth, Ind., and Maxine Oliver of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 18, at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel, with Revs. Roy Maple and Robert Collins, and Elder Tiny Breeding. Burial was in Reed Family Cemetery, Barnetts Creek, under direction of Paintsville Funeral Home.
