Shay Spradlin, age 58, died Wednesday, June 1, 8:15 p.m. at his home in Piketon, Ohio after a sudden illness. Born July 1, 1907 in Win, Ky., he was the son of the late Andrew and Ellen Cantrell Spradlin. He had been employed as a merchant in Piketon. His wife who survives him is the former Jewell Tackett. Survivors include a daughter Mrs. Wilma Wooldridge, Piketon, two sisters Mrs. Alta Sayler, Dayton Ohio; Mrs Lennie Lemaster, Manila and two grandchildren. The funeral was held Sunday, June 5, 11 a.m. at the Fish Trap United Baptist Church with Oscar McCarty, Lonza Reed and John Pelphrey officiating. Pallbearers were Leon Lemaster, Harold Lemaster, Willis Sayler, Edd Pendleton, Don Watson, Rudolph Blanton and Lonnie B. McKenzie.
