Hester Blanton of Low Gap Dies Monday
Mrs.
Hester Blanton, 75, widow of Sanford Blanton, of Low Gap died in a
local hospital Monday at 8:40 a.m., following and illness of a few days.
The daughter of David and Amanda Stapleton Burchett she was born in
this county April 13, 1884, and had been a resident of Low Gap most of
her life. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving
besides her husband are three daughters, Mrs. Blanche McKenzie,
Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Hazel Long, Louisville; Mrs. Erie Fairchild, Low
Gap. Also surviving are three brothers, Grass Burchett, Staffordsville;
Tolbie and Lonnie, Burchett both of Elna; two sisters Mrs. Ella Rice,
Elna; Mrs. Leda Van Hoose,Volga. Funeral services were conducted from
the home at 10:00 a.m., today with Lonza Reed and Charlie Lemaster as
officiating ministers. Burial was in the family cemetery.
