Velva Ruth Ferguson Trimble, 73, of Ashland, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 17, 2009. Mrs. Trimble was born Sept. 23, 1935, at Relief, Ky., a daughter of the late Renford L. Ferguson and Lula Mae Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Trimble, on June 8, 2009; three brothers, Aubra H. Ferguson, the Rev. John W. Ferguson and Russell H. Ferguson; and three sisters, Ethel Fyffe, Sophia Ferguson and Maude Ferguson. She was a self-employed electrologist and founding member of New Beginnings Worship Center, where she was Sunday school superintendent and active in the ladies ministry. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Mary Trimble of Ashland; a daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" Horne of Ashland; three grandchildren, Rebekah (Benjamin) Price of Ashland, Haley Brooke Trimble and Peyton John Trimble; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Delcia (Forest) Miller of West Liberty, Ky., and Wanda (Fred) Boose of Lake Village, Ind.; and loved by special nieces, nephews and friends. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Thomas C. Jones and the Rev. Thomas E. Jones. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park.
