Mrs. Rose Johnson, 94, Purdin, MO, died Thurs., Dec. 4, 2008, at Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe. A funeral service will be Mon., Dec. 8, at 1:30 p.m., at Wright-Baker-Hill Funeral Home in Brookfield with Rev. Harlin Ginn officiating. Visitation will begin Sun., at 1 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 4-6 in the evening. Burial will be in Purdin Cemetery in Purdin. Rose Marie, daughter of Roy J. and Maude (Terrill) Betson, was born August 17, 1914 in Anthony, Kansas. On September 3, 1932, she married H. Orlando Johnson who preceded her in death on November 16, 1999. Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker. She was also involved in farming and the Bank of Purdin with her husband, Orlando. Rose was a member of the United Methodist Church in Purdin and P.E.O. Chapter AM of Linneus.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Head and husband, Gilbert of Kearney; a son, Dean Johnson and wife, Marlene of Purdin; six grandchildren, David Faulkner and wife, Sheila of Tempe, Arizona, Tom Faulkner and wife, Jody of Plano, Texas, Sara Miller and husband, Dan of Rocheport, Geoffrey Head of Chicago, Lee Johnson and wife, Amy of Purdin and Tonya Johnson of Columbia; five great-grandchildren, Laura Miller, Anna Miller, Darian Faulkner, Devon Faulkner and Myles Johnson; and one sister, Marilyn Pope and husband, Bill of Hawkinsville, Georgia.

Her parents, a daughter and son-in- law, Janet and John Faulkner, one brother, Chester Betson, and two sisters, Pauline Wells and Val Larsen preceded her in death.
