She was born Nov. 3, 1916, to Henry and Bessie Wright Schroeder in Middletown, Ill. She married Raymond E. Snyder on May 14, 1936, in Peoria. He predeceased her on March 25, 2010.

Surviving are two sons, Raymond Gene (Virginia) Snyder of Peoria and Gary Lee (Mary) Snyder of Kenosha, Wis.; five grandchildren, Mark and Scott Snyder, Kim (Mike) Johnson, and Cori and Rachel Snyder; and five great-grandchildren.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and an infant granddaughter.

She was employed by and retired from Montgomery Ward in her working life.

Her greatest joy was in being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Services will be at 12 noon Monday, July 18, 2011, at The Wilton Mortuary in Peoria, where visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The Rev. Howard Love will officiate. Burial will take place in Richmond Grove Cemetery in New Holland, Ill.
