Mary Opal Butler Helphinstine, age 90, of Hillsboro, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg, Kentucky.

Born August 27, 1922, she was a daughter of the late James and Rose Caudill Butler. Her husband, Everett Eugene Helphinstine, preceded her in death on April 11, 2005.

Mrs. Helphinstine is survived by one daughter, Linda Barber of Lexington, Kentucky; two sons, Jimmy Helphinstine and wife Sue of Owingsville, Kentucky, and Mike Helphinstine and wife Judy of Ewing, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother, Clyde Butler of LaVergne, Tennessee; extended family; and dear friends.

Mrs. Helphinstine retired from U.S. Shoe in Flemingsburg after 25 years of service, was a homemaker, and attended Hillsboro Christian Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Hutton Funeral Home with the Rev. James DeAtley, Bro. Jim Hamm, and Bro. Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Michael Helphinstine, Larry Gene Barber, Bryan Ishmael, Steve Otis, Jerry McNabb, Todd Cundiff, and Matt Bacon.

Honorary pallbearers: Fred Crump, Terry Hurst, Randy Wilcox, Donnie Wilcox, Ed Helphinstine, Bill Cooper, Steve Shields, and Jackie Shields.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Rd., Hillsboro, KY 41049
