Mina Butler Littleton


(April 6, 1937 - December 10, 2009)

Mrs. Mina Butler Littleton, 72, of Whispering Oaks, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009 at her home.

She was born on April 6, 1937 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late James and Iva Whisman Butler.

Mrs. Littleton was a retired pharmacy technician for St. Claire Regional Medical Center. She was a 1953 graduate of Fleming County High School, where she was the class valedictorian. Mrs. Littleton attended the Mt. Pisgah Christian Church and was a member of the Club of Hearts. She enjoyed reading, working in flowers, spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Peanut.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orris Jay Littleton, who passed away on January 27, 2009, her daughter, Paula Littleton Puckett, who passed away on September 7, 2004, one brother, Audrey Butler and two sisters, Mildred Butler Shields and an infant sister.

Survivors include three sons, Archie Littleton of Morehead, Philip Littleton and his wife, Patricia of Morehead and Rickie Littleton and his wife, Elaine of Clearfield, two brothers, Clyde Butler of Tennessee and Earl Butler of Fleming County, one sister, Mary Opal Helphenstine of Hillsboro, five grandchildren, Josh Puckett, Jason Littleton, Gabe Littleton, Morgan Littleton and Carrie Littleton Apgar, three great-grandchildren, Dakota Apgar, Tanner Mason and Bennett Littleton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2009 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. James DeAtley and Jared DeAtley officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery at Cranston. Visitation is after 4:00 P.M. Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Gabe Littleton, Jason Littleton, Josh Puckett, Sam Apgar, Wesley Helterbrand and Jimmy Helphenstine and honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Ed Scott, Ernie Lewis, Bill Cooper, Glenn Stephens and Mike Menard.
