Mr. Jerry Dean Masters, age 72, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2014, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville, Kentucky.

He was born July 31, 1942, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Ezra Masters and Famie Beckett Windsor.

Jerry was a Christian and an agent at the Ashland Oil Bulk Plant in Vanceburg for 22 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching outdoor animals, and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Masters, and his stepfather, Bob Windsor.

Jerry is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Bonita Masters of Fairland, Indiana, and Kevin and Teresa Masters of Corpus Christy, Texas; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cherri and Bobby Applegate, Lisa and Joe Vaughn, and Alissa and Randy Wills, all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Judy Masters of Winchester, Kentucky; two sisters, Delores Silvey of Vanceburg, Kentucky, and Margie Thompson of Portsmouth, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Tim Underwood officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens in Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2014, and until the service hour on Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.

Devin Masters, Willis Masters, Cody Kamer, Brandon Vaughn, Tyler Applegate, and Cameron Applegate will serve as pallbearers.
