Mr. Richard Rayburn, age 73, of Emerson, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday morning, April 29, 2015, at Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sandy Hook, Kentucky.

He was born January 4, 1942, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a son of the late Raymond and Opal Hilderbrand Rayburn.

Richard attended Globe Christian Church and enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and playing Bingo. He loved children and spending time with his family and friends.

Richard is survived by six brothers and sisters-in-law, Leronis and Jeanette Hilderbrand of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Talmadge and Linda Lou Rayburn, Leroy and Tina Rayburn, Lawrence "Buck" and Shelia Rayburn, Billy Joe and Jackie Jo Rayburn, and Greg and Charlotte Rayburn, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; six sisters and five brothers-in-law, Lodenia and Donald Erwin of Carthage, Indiana, Irene and Frank Evans of Grayson, Kentucky, and Judy K. Roark, Carolyn and Bill Perry, Pamela and Sam Hughes, and Barb and Bill Wilson, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two very special nieces, Amy and Ava; and several other nieces and nephews. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him. The family would like to thank his "extended family", the residents and staff at Elliott Nursing, for the time and care they gave Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Globe Christian Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother David Rayburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Rayburn Community Cemetery on Flat Fork Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Christian Church, US 60 West - Globe, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Richard's nephew's will serve as pallbearers.
