Donald Hubert Erwin, 80, of Carthage, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Rush Memorial Hospital. He was born September 8, 1935 in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of Rosa (Mack) Brinegar and Lloyd (Ruth) Erwin. Donald enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting, fishing, gospel and country music. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lodenia Rayburn Erwin of Carthage; sons, Keith (Mary) Erwin of Middletown, IN, Lloyd (Tammy) Erwin of Carthage, IN, Jon (Jessie) Erwin of Olive Hill, KY, David (Michelle) Erwin of Knightstown, IN, Michael (Sara) Erwin of Carthage, IN; daughters, Wanda (Ervin) Olsheske of Knightstown, IN, Linda Erwin of Knightstown, IN, Breta Erwin of Carthage, IN, Patty (Don) Gross of Knightstown, IN, Lois (Tom) Miller of Shirley, IN, Lisa (Bill) Byrd of Carthage, IN; 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; siblings, Lawrence (Jewel) Brinegar, Larry (Sandy) Brinegar, Eddie Brinegar, Janet (Lawrence) Sullivan, Eugene (Barbara) Brinegar, Roger (Wilma) Erwin, Mildred (Roger) Richardson; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles and other family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Elmo Owens, Bobby Lee Owens, Gary Brinegar, Dorse Erwin and Wayne Erwin; sisters, MaryLou Sullivan and Wilma Jean Brinegar. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Globe Christian Church in Olive Hill, Kentucky with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Rayburn Family Cemetery on Flat Fork in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, is assisting with local arrangements.
