Jeffery Wayne Rivers, age 61, of Fleming Fork, Olive Hill, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017, at his residence. He was born April 7, 1956, in Rowan County, a son of the late Forest Rivers and Shirley Withrow Smith. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Smith Rivers, whom he wed May 25, 1973, until her death August 18, 2008. Jeff is survived by his wife, Annetia Sue Dailey Rivers, whom he wed October 17, 2009; two sons, Ronnie (Troy Banner) Rivers of Georgetown, Mason (Brittany) Rivers of Morehead, and Alaina Kilgore of Olive Hill whom he raised as his daughter; two stepsons, Jeremy Kilgore and A. J. (Fallon) Kilgore of Morehead; four brothers, James (Freida) Rivers and Bobby (Cindy) Rivers of Olive Hill and Monte (Melinda) Rivers and Michael (Martha) Smith of Morehead; three sisters, Veronica Hinton and Vicki Rivers of Olive Hill and Cindy Rivers of Morehead; four grandchildren, Mallory and Mckinley Rivers and Carigan and Landon Kilgore; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeff was a coal miner, farmer, and avid outdoorsman. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Rivers officiating. Burial will follow at Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County. Pallbearers: A. J. Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore, Chase Hanshaw, Christian Rivers, Troy Banner, and Clifford Logan. Visitation is Monday, August 28, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
