Hattie G. Hickerson, 87, of Flemingsburg, formerly of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at Fleming County Hospital.

She was born September 27, 1927, in Mason County, to the late William F. Simms and Sally Elizabeth Pollitt Simms.

Hattie was a homemaker who loved her family and her church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Paul L. Hickerson; granddaughter, Laura Souder Hunt; son-in-law, Bill Souder; brothers, Albert, Jake, Jim, Orville, and Mark Simms; and sister, Flossie Rigdon.

Survivors include her sons, Elbert (Donna) Hickerson and James (Virginia) Hickerson; daughters, Jewell Elizabeth Souder and Alice (Gerald) Dyer; special nephew, Tommy Simms; sister, Marietta Adams; 16 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Ray Hickerson and Bro. David Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Josh Dyer, Gary Hamilton, Gene Hickerson, Mike Hickerson, Brian Justice, Nathan Justice, and Bill Souder, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jennifer Anderson, Rachael Davis, Amanda Dyer, Angela Forman, Sherry Justice, C. J. Sapp, and Carla Story.
