NEWTON FALLS - Raymond Thompson, Sr., 65, passed away on October 4, 2013 at the Cleveland Clinic after a brief illness. He was born on July 13, 1948 in Niles, son of the late Claude and Nora (Adams) Thompson.

Raymond served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Auto Body Technician for auto dealerships in the area for over 40 years. Recently, he was employed as a laborer at Kraftmaid. He was a member of the Braceville United Methodist Church. He loved motorcycles & spending time with his family. To his grandchildren, he was the "Best Grandfather there ever was".

Memories of Raymond will be carried on by his wife, Britta (Letson), whom he married December 24, 1977; son, Raymond (Amy) Thompson, Jr. of Rapid City, SD; son, Daniel (Cindy) Douglas of Cortland; son, Thomas (Diana) Douglas of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Deanna (Eric) Zigler of Niles; 3 sisters; 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 am on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Braceville United Methodist Church, Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Joan Purnell officiating. Full military honors will be presented after the service by the Trumbull County Honor Guard.
