Pauline Stapleton Johnson, age 85, of A. Johnson Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at her daughter's home in Morgan County. She was born June 4, 1930, in Grahn, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Warnie and Mettie Williams Stapleton. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Stapleton; two sisters, Imogene Henderson and Lyda Mae Stevens; two daughters, Rhonda and Shawanna Johnson; and two grandchildren, Doug and Crystal. Her husband of 54 years, Acie Estill Johnson, passed away on November 4, 2005. Mrs. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Virgie (Tim) Gamble of Morehead and Lydia (Kelse) Hensley of West Liberty; one son, Asa Wayne (Amy) Johnson of Morehead; eight grandchildren, Michael, Acena, Vandad, Joshua, Garret, Kira, Kenny, and Cheryl; six great grandchildren, Joey, Brittany, Carter, Alonzo, Kylei, and Connor; and two great-great grandchildren, Willie and James. Other survivors include two sisters, Sarah Duncan and Priscilla Littleton, both of Morehead; three brothers, Mack, Paul, and Charlie Stapleton, all of Marion, Indiana; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Pauline was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed family get-togethers, sewing, making quilts, gardening, and looking at family pictures. She was a member of the Holly Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 22, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Porter, Bro. Monroe Craig, and Bro. Harley Sexton, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in Caudill Cemetery at Sharkey. Pallbearers: Charles Ray Henderson, Kelse Hensley, Jeremy Watson, Joey Simms, Aaron Beck, Charles Cooper, Roy Johnson, Lee Littleton, and Garret Hensley. Visitation is Thursday, January 21, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
