MRS. J. D. GILLUM, 68, DIES End Comes at Home on East Third - Lived Here 46 Years Mrs. George Ann M. Gillum, 68 years old, died at her home, 801 East Third street, at 715 o'clock this morning. She had been in failing health for some time, suffering from cancer. Mrs. Gillum had been a resident of Carthage 46 years, coming here from St. Paul, Kansas in 1879. She was born in Knox county, Kentucky November 19, 1856 and was married in St. Paul, KS., April 5, 1877 to J. D. Gillum. Mr. Gillum for years conducted a grocery at the corner of Third and Boi d'Arc streets, adjoining the Gillum home here, and Mrs. Gillum continued the operation of the store for some years after his death. Five sons, two brothers, three sisters, ten grandchildren survive Mrs. Gillum. The sons are: A. M. Gillum, Marshall, Minnesota; H. S. Gillum, J. W. Gillum, Carthage; W L. Gillum, Modesto, CA., and C. E. Gillum, Carthage. W. D. Lansdown, Compton, CA., and J. B. Lansdown, Pittsburg, KS., are brothers and Mrs. Emma Duncanson, Pittsburg, KS., Mrs. Sadie Murray, Lincoln, Nebraska and Miss Lavine Lansdown, Rodeo, New Mexico are sisters. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. George Owen will have charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
