Ruth Ellis Whisman, 80, of Maysville, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe. Born April 27, 1936, in Fleming County, she was the daughter of the late Garvey and Sarah Million. Ruth was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother who loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and hosting her friends and family. She was member of Tollesboro Christian Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Clayton Whisman; children, Lynda (Perry) Dearing, Jimmy (Jonnye) Whisman, Billy (Rhonda) Whisman, Cindy Henderson, Jerry (Teresa) Whisman, and Donny (Janie) Whisman; grandchildren, Eric Dearing, Jason Dearing, B.J. Whisman, Cody Whisman, Travis Whisman, Garrett Henderson, Joshua Whisman, and Hayle Whisman; great grandchildren, Karter Whisman, Kynslie Whisman, Jayden Fetters and Jordan Dearing. She is also survived by sisters, Ruby Curtis and Josephine Saunders. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Rev. John Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Wedonia Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 12- 2p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
