Nelson
Jones, 84, of Delaware, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Grady
Memorial Hospital in Delaware. Born March 13, 1929 in Jacobs, Kentucky,
he was the son of Eddie and Clara (Evans) Jones.
He had been a
resident of Galion for many years and had also resided in Florida. He
was the founder of United Church Directories of Galion and a member of
Gospel Baptist Church of Galion. He enjoyed horses, horse racing and
photography.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Deana
(Griffey) Jones, whom he married November 21, 1989; a son, Ed (Beverly)
Jones of Texas; two daughters, Debra Jones and Christie Jones, both of
Mansfield; a step son, Shaun McCarty of Bucyrus; eight grandchildren and
numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Agnes Nauman; a brother, Clell
(Louise) Jones; a sister-in-law, Gay Jones; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a
brother, Phillip Jones; two sisters, Lydia Egans and Lucille Porter;
and an infant brother and infant sister.

4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner
Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral
services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at the
funeral home conducted by Pastor Monty Trammel. Burial will follow in
Mansfield Memorial Park.
