Everett Caudill, 90, of New Castle passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his home. He was born March 14, 1928 in Farmers, KY to the late Leslie and Rena (Johnson) Caudill. Everett was a graduate of Spiceland High School, where he played basketball and baseball. He, along with his wife, Janet, owned and operated Caudill Marathon from 1954 to 1980. Everett was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Castle and a lifetime member of the Breakfast Optimist Club. He loved to travel, working in his yard, always being the first to mow in the Spring, and spending time with his children and grandchildren, never missing an activity or sporting event they were participating in. He is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Randy) Utt of Lewisville and Susie (Larry) Hufford of New Castle; grandchildren, Stacie (Gary) Wrightsman, Holly Hudson (Bryan Guffey), Emily (Richie) Hiser, Randy Utt, Leslie Utt (Ryan Reno), Chris (Melanie) Hufford, great grandchildren, Grant Ingalls, Cassidy Wrightsman, Keaton Walters, Clayton and Logan Reno, Lane Utt, Macy, Carmen and McKenley Hufford, Lauren and Ashlyn Guffey, Hunter and Trapper Hudson; siblings, Juel Shephard of Ogdon, Ruth Williams of Dunreith and Leonard Caudill of South Carolina; sisters in law, Ruth Caudill of Dunreith, Sarah Caudill of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Janet L. Caudill, a son, Steve Caudill; siblings, Chalmer and Ray Caudill, Geneva Nease and Emma Schweikhardt. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Tom McGilliard and Roby Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 p.m. Monday, April 16 and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
