Word has been received here of the death of Guy H. Powers Jr., 66, of New Castle. He died Wednesday, June 3 at Henry County Memorial Hospital.

A Westport native, he had lived in New Castle 42 years. He retired in 1980 from Chrysler Corp., where he worked more than 30 years. He was a member of United Auto Workers and participated in several bowling leagues.

Funeral will be conducted Saturday at Macer Hall Funeral Home in New Castle, burial will be at Green Hills Memory Garden.

Mr. Powers was born Oct. 25, 1925, the son of Guy H. and Elizabeth Marie Price Powers. He married Genivee Mineer, June 4, 1945, she survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Donna Chowning; a son, James R.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Plumlee; half brothers, Howard and Robert Yager; and a granddaughter.
