ALFRED JOHN "A.J." DOYLE, age 84, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Baptist Health, in Lexington, Kentucky, after a massive stroke. He was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on February 1, 1933, to the late Orville and Annie Pope Doyle. He was a 1952 graduate of Harrison County High school, a United States Air Force Korean War veteran (1953-1957, serving two years in Japan) and a parts manager at Cynthiana Motor for 27 years. He also worked at Webbers, was a farmer and enjoyed antique tractors. A.J. was known as a south paw fast pitch softball pitcher. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, David Doyle and Donnie Doyle; and two sisters, Margie Fryman and Eunice Moyer. He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Wanda Clark Doyle; a daughter, Lisa (Larry) Hurt, of Somerset; three sons, John (Carol) Doyle, of Bourbon County, and Ricky Doyle and Darrin (Kelli) Doyle, both of Harrison County; three grandsons, Jacob (Rachel) Doyle, Zach Doyle and Taylor Hurt; three step-grandchildren, Heather McAninch, Holly Hurt and Lincoln Darrell; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Shelby) Doyle; a sister, Phyllis (Bobby) Brady; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home by Bro. Tom Moore. Visitation will be from 5:00 until. 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Indian Creek Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Mark Doyle, David Doyle, Jeff Doyle, Greg Doyle, Robbie Doyle, Dale Fryman, Paul Hall and Russell Demmitt.
