Gladys Hatfield Humphries, age 96, of Hillsboro Road, Flemingsburg, KY, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Fleming County Hospital in Flemingsburg. She was born March 16, 1923, in Fleming County, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Nannie Clark Hatfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milton "Billy" Humphries; two sons, James Humphries and Milton Humphries, Jr; a daughter, Norma McRoberts; a sister, Ollie Duncan; an infant sister; a brother, John Hatfield; two granddaughters, Wendy Dunaway and Tammy Doyle; a great grandson, Donavan Kelley; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Brook Maze; two sons-in-law, Jay Maze and Donnie Sloas; and a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Humphries. She is survived by three sons, Roger Humphries of Flemingsburg, Donald Humphries of Colfax, and Ricky Humphries of Flemingsburg; seven daughters, Wanda Maze of Hillsboro, Wilma Sloas of Ewing, Donna Shoemaker of Flemingsburg, Peggy Humphries of Flemingsburg, Lisa Williamson of Flemingsburg, Brenda Pollock of Ewing, and Lori Gulley of Hillsboro; 35 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Humphries was a homemaker and farmer. She enjoyed gardening and making cream candy. Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Hutton Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Engle and Pastor Jerry Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Gulley, Lonnie Shoemaker, Dwane Humphries, Michael Humphries, Justin Harris and Jacob Harris.
