Donna J. Tipton, 81, of Arkansas City, KS passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Presbyterian Manor. Cremation has been effected. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Donna was born April 15, 1935, to Forrest F. and Virginia (Hamm) Stacy in Arkansas City, KS. She attended elementary school in Auto, KS. The family later moved to Arkansas City where Donna attended and graduated from Ark City High School in 1953.
On March 7, 1953, Donna married Melvin Tipton in Burden, KS. The couple made their home in Arkansas City. Donna worked as a seamstress from her home for many years. She was a past member of the Royal Neighbors. Donna enjoyed sewing, reading, and most off all she cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters Teresa Burns and husband David of Shawnee, KS; Valerie Rush and husband Rick of Arkansas City, KS; sister Vera Ramey and husband Ronnie of Arkansas City, KS; brother Forrest “Bud” Stacy and wife Carolyn of Hoschton, GA; grandchildren Stacy Ruth and husband Joey of Kansas City, MO; Becky Pisani and husband Mike of Lawrence, KS; Betsy Rush of St. Louis, MO; great grandchildren Mariah and Zachary Ruth of Kansas City, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Melvin.
A memorial has been established for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home
