Aubrey D. McNally, 88, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Friday, October 19th, 2012, while in the company of family members, at the Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson, Kansas. Aubrey was born in Waynoka, Oklahoma on February 8, 1924, a son of the late Opal Viola (Ham) and Orval Marvin McNally. He attended Springdale Elementary School and graduated from Waynoka High School in Waynoka, Oklahoma in 1941, prior to receiving his bachelors degree from Oklahoma A & M (now Oklahoma State University), in 1948. He was a member of McPherson Church of Christ McPherson, Kansas, He served as an Elder for many years. He filled in preaching on occasion in McPherson and surrounding communities. The church was the most important aspect of his life. He served in the U.S. Army as a SSG in WW II. He served as a combat infantryman in the Rhineland Campaign and received the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon and one bronze Service Star. He was the owner and operator of 81 Farm Supply in McPherson, Kansas from 1955 - 1989. He also taught vocational agriculture in Medford, Oklahoma from 1948 - 1952; was the assistant manager of Bart White Motors in McPherson, Kansas from 1952 - 1955. After retirement he worked at Femco and Wallace Chevrolet, both in McPherson, Kansas. Aubrey D. McNally was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Pinkerton on August 30, 1947 at Elk City, Oklahoma. She survives in McPherson, Kansas. Other survivors include; three daughters Kathy (Terry) Broome, of Scottsboro, Alabama; Karen (Richard) Hanke, of Choctaw, Oklahoma; Barbara (Steve) Sucsy, of Lubbock, Texas; a son Gary (Donna) McNally, of McPherson, Kansas; a sister Garnett (Earl) Harms, of Perry, Oklahoma; a brother Stanley (Jeanine) McNally, of Salina, Kansas; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant brothers; and an infant granddaughter, Amy Dawn Broome Friends are invited to call Monday, October 22nd, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas. The funeral service will be at the Church of Christ, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012 with Minister Gary Witcher officiating. Interment will follow at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas with full military honors presented by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2715 and American Legion Post No. 24, both of McPherson, Kansas.
