Hershel Duean Hamm, 77, of Crossett died Monday, January 9, 2012. Born on June 17, 1934, in Pelahatchie, MS, to Lee and Mae Phillips Hamm, he was a millwright, a member of Community Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and working in the garden. Survivors include one son, Leon Hamm and wife Dina of Crossett; seven brothers, Paul and James Allen Hamm of Monroe, LA, Bill and Jack Hamm of Crossett, and Thomas, Cleave and Huey Hamm of Rayville, LA; two sisters, Jessie Mae Burgess of Tallulah, LA, and Barbara Ann Gardner of Mountain View; two grandchildren, David Hamm and Jamie Kay Blankenship; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Laken Blankenship. Mr. Hamm was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Mae Hamm. Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, at Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Bros. Kenneth Watt and Mike Chain officiating. Burial followed at the Crossroads Cemetery.
