James Dudley Doyle was the first born and eldest son of James Howard Doyle and Josephine Hamm Lamar. He was raised by his grandparents, Clarence Doyle and Minnie Hickerson Hamm Doyle.
He was born Dec. 12, 1929 and died Feb. 11, 2009. Mr. Doyle was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hazel L. Skaggs Doyle ; four children, James Douglas (Janie) Doyle, Jeanette Doyle, Dianna Doyle (Rod) Gardner, all of Fleming County and Dennis Doyle of Marianna, Fla.; six grandchildren, Christina Doyle of Kernersville, N.C., Jeremy Doyle, Nicole Hickerson, Shelby Hall III, Shannon and Christopher Gardner, all of Fleming County; one brother, Thomas Lamar of Fleming County; and two sisters, Eula Finch of Fleming County and Olive Tumlin of Vanceburg; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Lamar; and three sisters, Dorothy Prater, Mary Brown and Elizabeth Brown.
Services were Feb. 14 at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Pastor, Darren Fizer officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Visitation was Friday at the funeral home.
