Dallas DeWayne Brown, 66, of Cranston Road, Morehead, a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.

Born August 11, 1947, in Mt. Sterling, he is the son of Harold Eugene Brown of Morehead and the late Myrtle Faye Gulley Brown.

In addition to his father, Dallas is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Ropars Brown, whom he wed August 6, 1983; three devoted sons, Tony Brown and Sheila of Dayton, Ohio, Jonathan Brady Brown of Brooklyn, New York, and Adam Corey Brown of Morehead; and three grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Peyton Brown and Cooper Brown, whom he loved with all his heart..

He is also survived by one brother, Randy Eugene Brown and Beverly of Lexington; two sisters, Linda Boudreaux of Morehead, and Lesa Crose and Tom of Farmland, Indiana; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; extended family; and friends.

Dallas was a carpenter and an associate member of Morehead American Legion Post No. 126, where he proudly served on the Honor Guard. An avid outdoorsman, he loved mushroom hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed karaoke, telling tales, and traveling "West." Dallas was best known for being a person who would always help others.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd Dean officiating.

Private graveside services will be held at the Clark Cemetery on Cranston Road.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
