Robert Allen Faul, age 78, of Wellington, beloved son, father, brother, and husband, passed away Monday, December 13, 2010, at the V. A. Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness.

A decorated U.S. Marines veteran, Mr. Faul received a Silver Star for his meritorious service in the Korean War, in addition to two Purple Hearts and the Gold Star. He retired from IBM in Lexington and later was co-owner of Carlisle Mfg.

Born March 31, 1932, in Mason County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Hervey Faul and Beulah Littleton Faul.

Mr. Faul is survived by his daughter, Barbara Faul of Lexington; his wife, Opal Justice Faul of Pikeville; his brother, Donald Faul and wife Mary of Maysville; his sister, Dottie Ginn of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jess Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Carlisle Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers: Tommy Caudill, Eddie Goodpaster, Samuel Hampton Jr., Wayne Coryell, Shawn Church, John Hamilton III.

Honorary pallbearers: Rev. R. T. Thacker, Larry Faul, Steve Faul, Bill Anderson, James Church.

Visitation is Thursday, December 16, 2010, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, Kentucky.
