Lena M. Caudill, 88, of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital.

Born Sept. 3, 1922, in Morehead, Ky., she was the daughter of Walter and Nancy (Jackson) Goodwin. She married William 'Les' Caudill, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary (husband, William) Klare of Shelbyville; a son, James (wife, Margo) Caudill of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Sandy Caudill of California; grandchildren, Melissa Tucker, Amanda Gillilan, Margaret Bolding, Megan Klare, Kimberly Kraeszig and Christina Caudill; great-grandchildren, Kristin Leffler, Mariah Tucker, Mallory Bolding, Abigayle Bolding, Gabriel Klare, Joseph Kraeszig and McKinley Kraeszig; sisters, Dessie Morgan of Markleville and Goldie Jackson of Knightstown; a brother, Dude Goodwin of Knightstown; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, William Caudill Jr.; a sister, Grace Thompson; and brothers, Oral Goodwin and George Goodwin.

Mrs. Caudill was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Knightstown.

She was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Knightstown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel, 7355 S. State Road 109 in Knightstown.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Knightstown Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Cunningham and Ralph Thompson officiating.

Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
