Oscar O. “Tony” Gulley, 78, of Flemingsburg, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Life Care Center of Morehead. Born on August 17, 1938, in Wallingford, Ky., Tony was a son of the late Ollie and Mary Pugh Gulley. Tony was a hard working farmer and true friend who loved his family dearly. His home was always open to all and he would have gladly provided. He always had a kind word and a smile for everyone. Tony will certainly be missed by all his family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Helen Joan Niece Gulley; children, Sharon G. Plummer and Jeffrey O. Gulley and Lee Hall; grandchild, Christine G. Helphenstine; and two great grandchildren, Christian J. Helphenstine and Paisley R. Schatz. He is also survived by his sister, Florence Gulley; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Travis Neal Gulley; brothers, John Gulley, Ben Gulley and Otha Gulley; and a sister, Alice McClanahan. Services will be 3 p.m., Thursday, September 15, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jesse Hickerson Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Wallingford Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
