Grandma Lila woke up in heaven on December 22, 2010. Lila was born on January 25, 1922. She was reunited in death with her husband, Chuck; and her son, Roger; along with other family and friends. Lila is survived by one brother, Dr. Delbert Hamm; her children: Connie Golden and Jim Rains; her son-in-law, Maurice Golden; and daughters-in-law: Elizabeth Rains, Linda Rains and Chuckie Hill; her grandchildren: Dona Dickens, Debbie Sewell, Brannon Golden, Amy Phillips and Angie McNeill; fourteen great-grandchildren, who were the light of her later life; and many nieces and nephews that she dearly loved. Lila was a true friend, the type of person everyone gravitated to, well-respected in her community. She was spot-on with the truth and shared her wisdom with you whether you asked for it or not. She enjoyed reading, listening to talk radio, Bingo, casinos, her church (Wesley United Methodist) and spending time with her family. Words cannot express the kind of woman she was, but one can come close, LOVED. She was the matriarch of our family, loved by all that knew her, and she will be greatly missed. We will celebrate her life with a graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery on Friday, December 24, at 11:00 a.m. Services under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home Edmond, OK.
