Pauline (Hamilton) Porter, age 81, of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday in her home. She was born August 26, 1927 in Fleming Co., KY, the daughter of Isaac Edward and Laura Jane (Pitts) Hamilton.

Mildred married the love of her life, Mitchell D. Porter in 1946 and they enjoyed 62 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted family builder who cared and deeply loved her family, home and community. She helped manage the G2 Cafe in Knightstown for 17 years. Mildred was a loving person who will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mitchell E. Porter of Knightstown; a son, Ray (Rebecca) Porter of Anderson; three daughters: Kathlene (Cecil) Powell of Arlington, Jeanine McCullers of Knightstown and Vickie McKinney of Knightstown; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; two sisters: Lona Porter of OH and Eldred Logan of KY; two brothers: Glen Hamilton of Sulphur Springs and Clayton Hamilton of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society and the Hancock County Hospice.
