Elsworth Chester "Hambone" Hamm, age 72 of 536 Dean Road in Mansfield, Ohio died unexpectedly Saturday morning, November 18, 1995. He was born April 26, 1923 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to Marion and Amy Hamm, and lived in Mansfield, Ohio most of his life. He had retired from Kokosing Construction and was working at Mansfield Warehouse and Distribution. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of N AM Local 1216. He was an Army veteran of World War II. At the time of his death, he was survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael E. and LaDonna Hamm of Clarksville, Tennessee, Steve D and Alma Hamm, Arthur Craig and Alice Diane Hamm, and Jack Allen and Margie Hamm, all of Mansfield. Eight Grandchildren and nin Great Grandchildren also were surviving at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl Virginia Hamm, two sisters, Ruby Logan and Alma Adkins, and one brother, Emmitt Arthur Hamm. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, November 22, 1995 at the Dean Road Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Herman Copley officiating. Burial followed in the Oak Grove Memorial Park. Wappner Funeral Directors were in charge of the arrangements.
