EUGENE M. HAMM, PARTNER IN FUNERAL HOME, DIES AT 58

OLIVE HILL -- Eugene M. Hamm, a partner in Globe Funeral Chapel, died of cancer yesterday at King's Daughters' Medical Center in Ashland. He was 58.

Hamm, who lived in Jordan Heights, had been a partner in the funeral home for about the last 10 years. He also operated Hamm Monument Co.

He formerly owned Hamm Ambulance Service and was a former Carter County deputy coroner. At one time he also was a truck driver for White Lumber Co. in Morehead.

He was a member of Soldier Church of God.

Hamm was a Rowan County native.

Surviving are his wife, Berniece Patton Hamm; a daughter, Peggy M. Bond of Olive Hill; six sisters; and a grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today.
