Ben Allen Gulley Sr., 79, of Wallingford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, at his residence. Ben was born May 8, 1936 in Fleming County to the late Ollie & Mary Pugh Gulley. Ben worked for the State Highway Department for 15 years as a truck driver and was a lifelong farmer. Ben was the widower of Betty Johnson Gulley. Ben is survived by his children, Brenda Luman of Tilton, Jeff (Elizabeth Nonie Smith) Mineer of Wallingford, Jennifer Warder of Flemingsburg, Joey (Peggy) Mineer of Wallingford, Becky (Bill) Kegley of Vanceburg and Ben (Amber) Allen Gulley Jr.; grandchildren, Scott Gulley, Roger & Michelle Pence, Jennifer Ann and Daniel Blake Gulley, Tabitha Marie Mineer, Dustin, Cody and Jenna Warder, Joanna & Austin Mineer, Cole, Logan & Kyla Kegley, Austin & Trinity Gulley; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Oscar “Tony” Gulley; sister, Florence Gulley. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, Danny and Eugene Gulley; his parents; 2 brothers, Otha & John Gulley; sister, Alice McClanahan. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wooley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
