Genetta Lee Poe Shupert, 92, of Maysville, Kentucky died Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. Mrs. Shupert formerly worked at Parker Tobacco, Hayswood Hospital, Meadowview Regional Hospital and retired from US Shoe in Ripley, Ohio. She was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on December 6, 1922 the daughter of the late Belford P. and Bertha Withrow Hamm. Mrs. Shupert was a member of Faith Assembly of God, she was a longtime volunteer with RSVP, where she and her late husband, Marlyn had won several medals in the Local, State and National level for the Senior Olympics Program. She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Simms (Ronnie) and Glenda Weddle (Danny) both of Maysville, KY and her step-son, Jim Shupert of Maysville, KY; seven grandchildren, Gloria Cooper, Aaron Cooper, Anthony Cooper, Bethany Simms, Danielle Weddle, Erica Weddle and Faith Weddle; twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn D. Poe who died in 1980 and by her second husband, Marlyn Shupert who died in 2009. Mrs. Shupert was the last of nineteen children. Funeral services for Genetta Poe Shupert will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2015 with Pastor Jack Arrasmith officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Pallbearers will be Danny Weddle, Ronnie Simms, Jim Shupert, Anthony Cooper, Drew Cooper, Aaron Cooper and John Reetz.
