Henry Hamm, age 90, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016, at his residence. Born at Cranston, Kentucky on Dry Branch, on December 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elizabeth Thompson Hamm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ethel Doll Hamm; five brothers, Hazel, Frank, Arthur, Bill, and John R. Hamm; a grandson, Air Force Staff Sgt. Daniel N. Fannin, who passed away April 27, 2013, in Afghanistan; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia "Patti" Faulkner Hamm on December 19, 2015. Henry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Icie Fern Littleton Hamm, whom he married April 26, 1948; two sons, Joseph Richard Hamm and Roy Eugene Hamm, and two daughters, Sharon Phyllis Hamm and Sharri Lynn Jones (Jeff Smedley), all of Morehead; one granddaughter, Caroline Sharon Hamm (Geoffrey Hamm); and three great grandchildren, Casandra, Maykala, and Adrian Hamm. Henry worked a number of years in maintenance in the Claypool-Young Art Building at Morehead State University, was a lifelong farmer, and for many years mowed cemeteries associated with the Cranston Cemetery Association. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Henry had been a member of the Primitive Baptist Church since 1947. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Emerson Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the Hogge Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeff Smedley, Junior Hamm, Geoffrey Hamm, Chris Earlywine, Dennis Catron, and Cephas Littleton, Jr. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
