James Milton HAMM, 89, died Friday noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Esther DICK,

northeast of Perry. He was born July 1, 1854, in Flemingsburg, Ky., and moved to Jefferson

County with his parents when he was fourteen years old. He had made his home in the

vicinity of Williamstown and Perry seventy-five years, forty of which were on the same

farm. He was a member of the Perry Methodist church.

He is survived by two daughters, Ms. Anna BAKER, Topeka, and Mrs. DICK; two sons, Arthur

HAMM, Topeka and Clarence HAMM, Clinton, Mont., and by eleven grandchildren, and five

great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Perry Methodist church.

Burial will be in Underwood cemetery.

Mr. Ham and wife resided at Oskaloosa during and after the years in which their son

Arthur was sheriff of Jefferson county.
