James Willard Hamm, 73, of Ewing died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2007, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born Feb. 25. 1934, in Fleming County to the late Maggie Fite Hamm and Robert Hamm.

Mr. Hamm served in the United States Army and was a retired farmer. He is survived by two sons, Randy (Charlene) Hamm and Tommy Hamm, both of Fleming County; a daughter, Darlene (Mark) Spurlock of Fleming County; three sisters, Betty Jo Hickerson of Fleming County, Verna Lee Johnson of Rowan County and Ruth Muse of Lexington; six grandchildren, Stacey Humphries, Tony Hamm, Christina and Jennifer Hamm, Tawanna Hurst and Scotty Butler; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Hamm; and two sisters, Agatha Jones and Rosetta Stanfield.

Services were Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007, at the Denton-Workman Funeral Home in Flemingsburg. Pastor Steve Hickerson officiated.

Burial followed in the Wallingford Cemetery at Wallingford.
