Jennie Lee Hamm Stucker, 73, of Hanover, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hanover. She was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Flemingsburg, Ky., the daughter of Theodore and Lydia Whisman Hamm. She lived in Jefferson County since the age of 14. She was the owner and operator of the Sale Barn on State Road 56 for many years. She owned and operated several area restaurants and was employed for 25 years as the head housekeeper at Hanover College. She was a member of the Jefferson County Conservation Club, Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary and the former Madison Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by one daughter, Dedra Kathleen Monday of Hanover; one stepdaughter, Wanda Finney of Madison; five brothers, Chris Hamm of Ellenton, Fla., Donnie Hamm of Quincy, Fla., Gary Hamm of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Jack Hamm Sr. of Madison and Ronnie Hamm of Germany; two sisters, Bonnie Watterson of Hanover and Betty Barnes of Madison; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Earl Stucker, who died Nov. 5, 2001; two stepsons, David Stucker and Roger Stucker; her parents; two brothers, Charles Hamm and Kenneth Hamm; and four sisters, Wanda Hamm, Emogene LaFevers, Linda Burnham and Debra Hamm. The funeral was at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Madison Courier 12/16/08
