Richard Hamm, 79, of Wallingford, passed away Friday January 23, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Morehead, with his family by his side.

Richard was born March 15, 1935 in Rowan County to the late Clella & Pricie Caudill Hamm.

Richard was a self-employed electrician and a true family man. He enjoyed life and most of all spending time with his family and friends telling stories. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed watching UK Basketball. Richard was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Wild Turkey Federation. He was a Christian and attended Fox Valley Community Church.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years Iolene Hickerson Hamm; children Barry (Karen) Hamm, Jeff (Melette) Hamm, Cathy (Ronnie) Conley and Connie (Tracy) Hamilton; sister Opal Vice, grandchildren Jason (Carolyn) Conley, Dustin (Sarah) Hamm, Casey Conley, Jessica (Richard) Traylor, Benjamin (Hannah Doyle) Hamm, Hannah Hamm, Caleb Conley, Matt (Michelle) Hamilton, Tierra (Tim) Kochendoefer and Brooke Hamilton; great grandchildren Lexi, Shelby and Kara Conley, Hunter Hamm, Madison Douglas, Toby and Gracyn Traylor, Jackson, Jacob, Jordan and Matthew Hamilton, Carter Kochendoefer, and expecting 2 more in 2015.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; brothers George, Lyle, Arlie, and Kenneth Hamm; sisters Maye Feltner, Myrle Reeves and Lilly Alice Hamm.

Funeral services will be at 1 PM Monday at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery in Morehead, KY. Visitation will be 5 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers
