Stevie Dale Hamm, Sr., 55, of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.

Born July 7, 1954 in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the son of Ellsworth Chester and Pearl Virginia (Perry) Hamm.

He worked at CSX for 37 years. A car enthusiast, Stevie loved his 1969 Roadrunner. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stevie and Robin Hamm, Jr. of Mansfield, and Jeff and Heather Hamm of Bellville, and their mother, Alma Thorpe; his girlfriend, Vicki Keen of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Trent, Aysia, Ariah, Hailee, Jordan, Nathaniel, Heaven, Tayla, Jaiden, and Reiley; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack Allen and Margie Hamm, Craig and Alice Hamm, all of Mansfield, and Mike and LaDonna Hamm of Clarksville, Tennessee;several nieces and nephews; and cousins, Marlene Tackett, Olive Plank, Joe Clark, and Phillip Clark, all of Morehead, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and best friend, Jerry Hamilton.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Mansfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Danny Dickerson. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
