John W. Helphenstine

Final rites were conducted Monday from Wallingford Methodist church for John W. Helphenstine, 82, who died Friday at Veterans hospital, Anderson, Ind.

Rev. Amos Harmon and Rev. H. D. Hill officiated. Burial was in Wallingford cemetery.

Mr. Helphenstine, a native of Fleming county, was a son of the late George H. and Charlotte Hughes Helphenstine.

He was a retired Fleming county farmer and a veteran of the Spanish American War. He moved to Anderson in October.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Scott, of Anderson, Ind., two brothers, Rawleigh Helphenstine, Flemingsburg and Lewis Helphenstine, of Paris; four sisters, Mrs. Amanda Walton and Mrs. Victoria Helphenstine, Flemingsburg, Mrs. Mary McIntosh, Maysville and Mrs. Ella Carpenter of Ripley, O.
