Mary Thomas Ray, 98, passed away December 12 in Clewiston, Fla., at the home of her granddaughter, Raygene Buff. Mary was born May 14, 1912, in Robertson County, Ky., to the late Thomas Allen and Pickett Helphinstine of Fairview.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, John L. Ray, also of Fairview in 1968 , a daughter Carolyn Ray Frederick, in March 1996 in Belle Glade, Fla., and a grandson, Jason Kendall Ray in March of 2007, and a great grandson Ethan Allen Buff of Belle Glade Fla.
She is survived by two sons William Yancey Ray of Lexington Ky, and Emmitt Allen Ray of Concord, North Carolina, one sister, Phyllis Wedding and a brother Gordon Helphinstine, of Carlisle, Ky. Also surviving are 6 grand Children, and 8 great grand children and one great great grand son.
She was buried in Port Mayaca Fla. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Belle Glade.
