37 YEAR OLD MOTHER DIES AFTER FIVE MONTH ILLNESS

Mrs. Wilma Jean Helphenstine, 37 year old Fleming county resident and mother of a 17 year old son, died Tuesday at 7:10 pm at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee 'Jack' Helphenstine, of near Wallingford. She had been very ill the past five months and had been hospitalized. Death resulted from complications.

Born October 2, 1924, in Fleming county, Mrs. Helphenstine was the only child of Ernest Lee Helphenstine and Gladys Ross Helphenstine, both natives of Fleming.

Mrs. Helphenstine was a member of the Kentucky Christian church at Flemingsburg and was regarded as a fine Christian woman. She had many fine qualities which endeared her to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, the deceased leaves a son, Gerald Louis, 17 and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 pm from the Kentucky Christian church with the Rev. H. P. Hill, pastor of the Wallingford Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Wallingford cemetery.

Pallbearers are to include Thomas, Jesse, Charles and Leo Helphenstine, Melvin and Russell Doyle.

Honorary bearers are to be Rev. Wendell Cooper, Rev. Nelson Purcell, Rev. Bob Garris and Ben Glass. The remains will be taken to the residence at 10:30 am today. Arrangements are in charge of the Boone Funeral Home.
