Glenn Hyatt, age 80, of Sharkey, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born May 15, 1934, at Sharkey, a son of the late Nelson Hyatt and Alice Black Hyatt. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harley Hyatt.

Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Clydia Wright Hyatt; a brother, Delmar Hyatt and wife Charlene of Lecanto, Florida, and a very special sister-in-law, Joanne Hyatt O'Donnal, who was by his side along with his dear wife.

Glenn served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958, in the Army-265 Field Artillery. He completed basic training in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and spent the rest of the time in Germany where he was Battalion Supply Clerk.

Glenn lived in Marion, Ohio, where he retired from Eaton Manufacturing and had his own Auto Recovery-Repair shop. He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed racing his own car in several states, golfing, and vacationing with family. He and Clydia spent many winters in Florida after they returned to Kentucky in 2002. Glenn loved living life the fullest.

"NEVER A FATHER BUT ALWAYS A PAPAW" best describes Glenn as he was a papaw to many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He loved them very much and they loved him. With the younger ones he attended many school functions and played dress up-that's what papaw's do.

He attended Ringos Mills Christian Church.
