Charles William Johnson, Jr., age 57, of Water Street, Flemingsburg, Kentucky, departed this earth to his heavenly home Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born November 12, 1954, in Sharkey, Kentucky, a son of the late Charlie and Frances Stacy Johnson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Lee Johnson and one sister, Lorene Johnson.

Junior is survived by his wife of 34 years, Norma Sue McKee Johnson; five children, April Dawn Harding of Morehead, Kentucky, Crystall Lynn (Fred) Thomas of Wallingford, Kentucky, Jeremy (Charlotte) Johnson of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, LaShonda Wachter of Morehead, Kentucky, and Jonathan (Mollie) Johnson of Flemingsburg, Kentucky; and 14 grandchildren.

Other survivors include one brother and four sisters, Sidney (Cheryl) Johnson of Defiance, Ohio, Elsie (Tommy) McClanahan and Geraldine (Scoby) McClanahan, of Hillsboro, Kentucky, Evangeline “Van” Donahue and Evelena Mayse, of Morehead, Kentucky, and several nieces and nephews.

Junior had been a self-employed logger and farmer and an avid coon hunter and NASCAR fan.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Brother Gerald Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Goddard Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Hayden Hall, Fred Thomas, Ramon Pena, Johnny Harding, Wayne Brown, Kenny Patrick, Danny Richmond, and Leonard Rice.

Honorary pallbearers: Lincoln Brown and David Carrington.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Kentucky.
